This facility is ideal for Residential – boarding - Schools/Colleges, HM Open Prisons, Military Training Establishments, or indeed for any secure sites where movements in/out need to be controlled. It incorporates EPOS – magnetic ID card reading technology - to speed-up booking processes, but it also features full manual data-entry characteristics for the retention of maximum operational flexibility. Additionally, it provides for the automatic implementation of specific ‘curfews’, usually relating to the age of particular candidates.

With the automatic calculation of candidate age from the recorded date of birth, users are flagged when candidates of the eighteen years or under age group book out. The flag warns the user that the candidate belongs to this age group and it also reminds of the required return time. Conventionally this is 22.00hrs on a working day, and midnight on a none working day. The facility intelligently knows which is which throughout the forthcoming year.

Specific records of curfew breaches are created automatically during booking-in processes. Then, these records are used to generate associated documentation, such as reports that instigate investigative interviews and reprimand procedures.

Importantly, Gate Movement Controller does not accept new virgin data from any swiped magnetic cards, although it is possible and practical to enter such my means of manual methods. Instead, card swiping processes ‘search and find’ existing on-board data which most often is entered on a mass-volume basis, in accordance with original college/establishment registrations. In this context, user operations – by means of DB multi-share features - are practically split into:

a. Booking in/out at the gate with occasional single record entries
b. Volume data posting at the administration HQ, in accordance with course, or house, or troop populations that are known in advance. Gate Movement Controller is able to handle the creation of hundreds of new records within single posting instances, and it can do this successively without restriction
